Overview

I led a 12-person team and owned the truck's structure and some of its packaging. The one-motor idea was mine: forward runs the intake, reverse dumps the load. Top 6 at the 2026 ASME Student Design Competition.

My part

I led a 12-person team. Over the season, my own design work settled on the truck's structure and some of the packaging. The circuits were a team effort, with help from people outside the team.

One motor, two jobs

The one-motor idea was mine. Running forward, the motor drives the intake. Running in reverse, it dumps the load. That is one fewer actuator to fit in the truck.

How it was built

Parts were laser cut and 3D printed, with an Arduino for control. First sketch to competition took about 14 weeks.
